Eric Blacks blog, http://www.startribune.com/blogs/bigquestion/ has been very good about posting all comments up until now. Does the following post look offensive to you? There are no links either which might slow it down. I'm disappointed in the Star Tribune's censorship..

I am of 100% Norwegian decent myself, and I am planning to visit where my Great Grandparents lived in Hjelle and Eidskog sometime soon. Norway is a beautiful country and I want to experience the culture before it changes to much.
I'm reluctant though to support a socialist government, which is obvious through the high prices tourist are forced to pay there. Norway is also dependant on Muslim immigration to support it's "cradle to grave" welfare system. This is culteral suicide!
There are problems caused by Muslim immigration such as the rape epidemic in Oslo, violent crime, and a serious problem with a lack of assimilation.
I'm concerned about Minnesota as well. We have more third world immigrants than about any state in the country because they are attracted to our welfare system, and we are starting to see the same assimilation problems as Europe. Somali Muslim cabbies at the airport now refuse to pick up people with alcohol, pork, homosexuals, or blind people with seeing eye dogs.
Good news though! The extremely liberal Star Tribune editorial board wrote a very rare common sense piece condemning these Muslims for their lack of tolerance. Good for them!

Should Roy-in-Oslo be courteous and decent enough to speak Norwegian when he visits another nation with another national language? Why did you not speak German, in Germany? Don't you respect theri language? Turks there speak German.
D2 - Directly re the post of yours, was this purported censorship some time ago, or recently that you say a post at BQ was censored?
Could you identify the thread the comment was appended to?
Eric Black has a ton of stuff there and you only list to the blog's general location URL.
Specificity would help because I could not find a current thread there where that comment was at all relevant.
Date, time posted - best guess, etc., the when part of who, what, where, when - would help.
I could have randomly picked a thread there and posted about Michele Bachmann lying on her new official congressional website that the Minnesota Sixth District is a national hub for financial services, but it would not have been relevant.
You live in Elk River and know the district. What was that batty woman blathering about? Where's the great concentration of financial services? There's a check cashing outlet in Anoka, next to the tattoo parlor - did she mean that, or the Bank of Elk River, with its several branches?
Aside from that, I know you have said you do not like things about Met Council. I have reasons for disliking much about Met Council, and I am curious about what overlapping concerns we might share and agree on about that. Sometime if you take time to post on it I would enjoy reading what you think.
I think there is a huge difference between being a tourist and being a permanent resident. If you intend to reside in a country with a different language you should definately learn it.
Eric I am happy that Michelle makes you so mad. that is the way that I judge a conservative;if the liberals veins start to bulge in their necks when they talk about them then they must be doing a good job.
Moeman is right about the difference between "tourist" and "permanent resident". When Americans travel to other countries, especially civilized ones, the hosts are generally pretty good about trying to speak English, the universal language. These people know that to become successful in life, it's just about impossible to do it without speaking English. I resident however would be expected to learn the host language quickly though.
My Great Grandparents knew how important it was for their family to use English, and Norweigian quickly turned into English.
Too bad so many immigrants today don't wan't to assimilate or learn English, but transplant their native culture here.

You can see where I complained and mentioned where it was my 5th attempt, but I just checked and it never came through. You should understand my frustration after seeing the detail you put into your posts. I'm more bothered by losing everything I typed and having to start over than being rejected.

Ironic, you are censoring posts to a thread about you being censored.
You can't really complain when a private entity censors you. They have every right to control their medium. You, as a blogger, have every right to approve this post or not. It's your blog.
Censorship you can (and should) complain about is when the government prevents you from speaking your mind.
I encourage you to keep posting here the comments that the Strib won't allow on their site. They will never ever give us a fair shake. Ever.
Oh and Eric Zaetsch seems like a real winner. It blows my mind that the majority of Minnesotans (at least this time) agreed with his views.

Assimilation usually happens due to economic reality. Nonassimilation leads to lesser or narrower opportunity.
But it often is second generation. It is an issue when time is not allowed to play out. There's an author who wrote about Catholic history in the US, and noted the weakening of the faith as the second generation and suburban generations of Irish and German-Catholic families married into other faiths or into less intensely affiliated families. I had the book checked out, forgot the author's name. If I track it down I will put author title in a comment. It dealt with the 19th centruy primarily. But immigration has a long history or we'd all have a Native American tribal heritage.
